The River Clyde Pageant: In Field & Flight marks the beginning of a new two-year cycle celebrating ten years of the Pageant in New Glasgow. This year’s show explores the collective movements of flocks and swarms, ancient patterns of plant and animal migrations, and the shifting responses these movements evoke. The show opens with a cranky theatre scene commemorating the history of the River Clyde Pageant, featuring alumni actors and melodies from past productions. Audiences will then travel along a meandering path through a field of wildflowers, encountering various ensembles along the way. Settling at the bottom of the hill, a new story will unfurl around the living stage built from windfall from Hurricane Fiona and woven willow, carried along by a lively cast of creatures from human, animal and plant realms. The Pageant is an enchanting experience for all ages, sparking delight, contemplation and wonder.
There are eight performances of the 2025 Pageant: July 24th - 27th and July 31st - August 4th at 7:30pm. Saturday and Sunday performances conclude with a shared meal prepared by Chef Emily Wells of The Mill in New Glasgow.
Pageant tickets must be reserved online, no tickets are sold at the door. Ticket revenue supports the growing cost of producing this large-scale event that involves over 200 artists and community performers in its creation. Our three ticket contribution levels:
→ $30 ticket - for a show without post-show meal
→ $40 ticket - for a show with a post-show meal
→ Pay What You Can ticket

PAGEANT SHUTTLE
Thanks to our accessibility sponsor Pauley Charter and Adventure Tours, we are providing a free shuttle bus service from Charlottetown to New Glasgow for three performances of the River Clyde Pageant, on July 25, Aug 1 & Aug 3. Attendees can book the shuttle bus when they purchase tickets online. There are two Charlottetown pickup locations: Atlantic Technology Centre (176 Great George St) and the Royalty Crossing Mall (670 University Ave). Detailed instructions on pickup will be emailed to attendees who signed up for the shuttle service. You must book both a shuttle ticket AND a ticket for the performance.
SITE, SEATING & ACCESSIBILITY
Seating at the Pageant includes wooden bleachers, wooden benches, and garden chairs with backs (available upon request). Seating is available for 185 people. There is a limited amount of space for picnic blankets in the front row. We have very little space for camp chairs this year, so please leave your camp chairs at home and use ours!
We recommend bringing sunglasses, bug spray, water, and appropriate clothing for evening outdoor weather. With the exception of service animals, dogs are not allowed.
Check out our 2025 Pageant Access Guide for full details on the site, what to expect, and accessibility supports available for audiences. Arriving at the Box Office and the performance site requires a good deal of walking on sloped, uneven ground that ranges from dirt and gravel pathways to grass. Golf carts are available for patrons who need assistance getting to and from the site. Accessible parking spots are also available, and there is a wheelchair accessible porta-potty on site. Email access@riverclydearts.com to reserve a golf cart or chair with a back, and for further accessibility information.
This year, we are piloting a Relaxed Performance on Friday August 1st. Relaxed performances are designed to create a more welcoming environment for all audience members. Audiences are able to make noise, cheer, or respond naturally to what they see, leave and re-enter as needed, and bring comfort items or sensory aids. The show will be the same, but all audiences are encouraged to embrace a culture of acceptance and joy as everyone responds to the show in their own unique way.
POST-SHOW MEAL - SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS
Saturday and Sunday performances will conclude with a shared, long-table meal in a field overlooking the Pageant site. Food is prepared by Chef Emily Wells and staff of The Mill in New Glasgow. We encourage audience members to bring their own plates, cups and cutlery. There is a bar with cider, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase (cash, debit and credit cards accepted). There are no meals following Thursday and Friday performances.
WEATHER
The Pageant can proceed in light rain, drizzle, and wind, so please dress accordingly. If it rains heavily, the Pageant cannot take place. We will email attendees by 5:30 pm if we have to cancel the show. If you don’t hear from us, the show is going ahead. Unfortunately, tickets cannot be used for another performance but refunds can be made upon request.
INFANTS AND TODDLERS TICKET POLICY
We welcome Pageant-goers of all ages to our events, but we must limit the number of attendees in order to ensure there is enough safe and comfortable space for all. Infants and toddlers ages 3 and under can enjoy the Pageant without a ticket, while kids ages 4 and up will require a ticket.
REFUND POLICY & CONTACT
We cannot issue refunds requested less than 48 hours prior to the show, unless the show is cancelled due to weather. For any inquiries related to ticketing, contact our Box Office at tickets@riverclydearts.com
